Ans. Medical examination is an essential part of selection procedure because it will ensure the company that the candidates selected do not suffer from any serious and terminal diseases which may create problem in the future.

Q 3. Explain the significance of ‘application blanks’ in a selection procedure.

Ans. ‘Application blanks’ is an important step in selection procedure. It provides a detailed and permanent record about the candidate. It reflects the candidate’s suitability and interest for the job.

Q 4. Why is recruitment a positive process whereas selection a negative process?

Ans. Recruitment is a positive process because its objective is to increase the selection ratio. On the other hand, selection is a negative process because it eliminates undesirable candidates at every stage of the process.

Q 5. What is the importance of reference checks in the process of selection of employees?

Ans. Reference checks provide valuable and significant information about the potential candidate’s personal as well as professional life, in the process of selection of employees.
